The province of Reggio, in the recently formed Tuscan-Emilian Apennine National Park offers tourists a wide network of mountain refuges. The services they offer tend to vary as they are not standardised structures. Some offer high standards of food and lodging, others only offer the bare minimum of services (visitors pick up the key, have use of the building and its facilities and lock the door behind them when they leave: the services offered by the managers are extremely limited.

in addition to out-and-out mountain refuges, we have also listed campsites and facilities other than hotels for those looking for a less formal accommodation in the Apennines, leaving them free to come and go as they please.
