Location: Abetina Reale (Villa Minozzo) 1400 m asl. From the village of Civago take the forest road which stretches between Civago and Rio Lama. Park near to the barrier which ends road access at the bridge over the Rio Lama and continue on foot for a short distance in the shade of the conifers (bearing left in the opposite direction to the road which leads to the Battisti refuge) or starting from the location “Case di Civago” take footpath 605: approximate time 1 and a half hours. It can also be reached from the Forbici, where it will be necessary to park and proceed on foot. Open all-year round at weekends and every day during the summer season under direct management. From the XVIII century a saw mill belonging to the Dukes of Este operated here to exploit the forest of white spruce and beech trees. Private companies followed which expanded the buildings to the point of building an actual village for seasonal workers in the mid twentieth century, which was then abandoned. It was refurbished and equipped as a refuge by local bodies. It has a restaurant and sleeps up to 21 people in three large rooms. The refuge is heated.
